This is a federal law comprised of two parts that impact the member’s health plan benefits. Part I allows a person who has group health insurance to qualify immediately for comparable coverage when that person has lost an existing policy due to a job change. Part II addresses healthcare information and the privacy and security of a patient’s health information.
